Is my V551 no good for ATT mmode?

I just bought a unlocked cing V551 and have a ATT acct, I do not want to switch (worse plan) and I put my sim card in the phone and works great. However, I do not have the web working, I tried putting in Cing web settings but no go, So I called to get ATT wap settings and they said it wouldnt work because I have a cing phone. Is this true or do I need to get ATT wap settings, if so does anyone have them for my phone?

att wont have wap settings for a phone that they dont carry so your sol on getting att wap settings

Press the Menu Key.
Scroll to and select WebAccess.
Scroll to and select Web Sessions.
Scroll to "mMode", then press the Menu Key.
Scroll to and select Edit.
Validate the following:
Name: mMode
Homepage: http://home
Gateway IP:10.250.250.250
Port 1: 9201
Domain 1: Blank
Service Type 1: WAP
Gateway IP 2: 000.000.000.000
Port 2: 0
Domain2: blank
Service Type 2: WAP
DNS 1: 000.000.000.000
DNS 2: 000.000.000.000
Timeout: 5 minutes.
CSD no 1: Blank
Username: Blank
Password: Blank
Speed (Bps) 1: 9600
Linetype 1: ISDN
CSD 2: Blank
Username 2: Blank
Password 2: Blank
Speed (Bps): 9600
Line Type 2: ISDN
GPRS APN: "proxy"
Username: Blank
Password Blank.
Click Done.
Once the browser settings are configured, please select it as the active web session:

Press the Menu Key.
Scroll to and select WebAccess.
Scroll to and select Web Sessions.
Scroll to "mMode", then press the Menu Key.
Select Set Default.

Thanks for the help, i triple checked the settings and the net still doesnt work, it says network not available. Any other help would be appreciated.

just use the mmmode setting for the motorola v400 it works just the same

Send yourself OTA settings here: http://www.cingular.com/support
Most settings for Vxxx series phones should work for any other Vxxx series phone (incase your device is not listed)

Negative. I have an ATT Employee phone (still) and I received a Moto V551 from Lockline. It's workin fine and I have Mmode.

thanks everybody, i tried it and bingo, i am up. I just called the other day and cancelled my mode, what amazes me is that nobody at Att/cing ever told me to try this. I was told flat out that it wouldnt work. I guess I shouldnt be amazed at this the cs is really just pathetic.

but the one LL sent you wasnt an unlocked phone,

do you have a sprs capabilities where you are????? is it possibly blocked on that acount
