Hi i got a second bak up phone at the weekend a samsung a300, bought this phone from a local market stall and tried my own 02 sim card in it at the time and everything worked ok.
after a couple of days i put my sim card bak into the A300, but this time it is not working, and all i am getting were the service logo should be is " No SERVICE ", although this sim card works fine in my V200.
i have went into the network services and looked in the available operators and it does not say 02 or BT cellnet, it only says "CLNET * " which is kinda puzzling, also it does not seem to find a operator when set to Automatic.
Can anyone give me any tips on how to put this right, also thinking alon the lines that this phoned could be blocked somehow ! , but not really sure about this,
If it is blocked , is there anyway to unblock ?, say with re-flashing the phone, and if it could be re-flashed, would my v200 data cable be used to do this with the appropriate software.
Thanks for your time
Tom

Just to update,
have found that the phone works on two other networks
1 Vodafone
2 Orange
Have tried to ring O2 but i am getting nowhere being kept on line for 20min at 50p a min.
so i have given up there.
Could someone please help me out here with how to solve this problem or what it might be
Thanks

I get that same problem here in the netherlands with my E700 and O2. The sim works in all the other phones like nokia, siemens, se but not in my samsung i also get a no service thing sometimes it does work but only for a few seconds. I guess O2 isn't strong enough for samsung

Cant be that am afraid as i currently have a Samsung V200 and O2 works perfectly with that. Have been doing some research on the Net and was wondering * do u think o2 could have blocked the IMEI on this phone,
And if they have, what can i do, if anything ?
Thanks

Hi don
Thanks for your replys, but in my earlier post post i did mention that initially my o2 sim card did work in the A300, and i kept the sim card in the phone for about 5 hours without any problems.
It was only a few days later that i realised that the sim card then did not work on my A300.
My sister and 2 friends are on o2 and all of them have A300 and the signal is perfect with them all the time, and i have put the O2 sim card that i have been trying in my A300(that dis not work) in their phone and it works with no problems ?
