New on-court branding for Sony Ericsson has been unveiled at the first global tournaments in the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour. The branding is part of the six-year title sponsorship deal signed by Sony Ericsson in January. The Australian Open in Melbourne, which saw Serena Williams claim the women's championship for the second time, the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo and this month's Open Gaz de France have all sported the new Sony Ericsson branding.

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus has signed a deal to give passengers of its new superjumbo A380 the option to make calls with their cell phones or surf the web.
The agreement, with Geneva-based OnAir, hopes to keep prices competitive, with international calls at $2.00 to $2.50 per minute, and text messages costing about 50 cents to send or receive.

Last night, the Sony Ericsson V800 camera phone was awarded the prestigious award for "Best 3G Handset" during the GSM Association's 2005 Awards evening at the 3GSM World Congress. This is the second year in a row that Sony Ericsson has taken home a product award; in 2004 the T610 was awarded "Best handset, terminal or device."
"In the opinion of our independent judging panel, the Sony Ericsson V800 has a great user interface and exceptional functionality across a range of features that users really need. Our judges were not surprised that the V800 handset has been a top seller in European 3G roll outs," said Mark Smith, Communications Director of the GSM Association.

Sony Ericsson today revealed a further addition to its growing portfolio of 3G UMTS products. With its fast and easy data access and strong feature-set, the Z800 is a serious productivity tool that will appeal to heavy mobile users who appreciate efficiency and style. It takes full advantage of all new services made accessible by mobile broadband networks, such as video telephony, music and video streaming and download.
Building on the huge success of the V800 for Vodafone, the Z800 will be available in Q2, taking a proven concept to an even bigger audience.
