Qualcomm and Macromedia today announced an agreement under which Macromedia may distribute Flash-based mobile applications developed using the BREW solution. With more than 98 percent penetration on Internet-connected desktop computers and more than 30 million Flash-enabled devices shipping, Flash enables the delivery of rich content, applications, and communications across all platforms. In addition to the agreement, Macromedia has signed on as an Elite member of the BREW Alliance Program.

Kyocera Wireless today unveiled a new wireless phone called the Kyocera Dorado KX13 at the BREW 2005 Conference. A slim bar-style phone with a large color screen and a front-facing speakerphone, Dorado KX13 is an ideal platform for games or ringtones, which can be downloaded over the air via BREW or Java. With its built-in flashlight and internal antenna, Dorado is a sleek, compact and affordable choice for the user on the go.
"The BREW 2005 Conference is a perfect venue to announce this phone because its features are ideal for using BREW applications such as games and ringtones," said Lee Ittner, vice president of global sales and marketing at Kyocera Wireless Corp. From the BREW Developers Conference in San Diego, Verizon Wireless announced today that total Get It Now downloads are expected to surpass the 200 million download milestone by the end of this month.
