Nokia today announced sales start of the Nokia N90 in the U.S. The first mobile device to feature Carl Zeiss optics and a range of advanced camera functions in addition to superb quality video, the Nokia N90 is set to transform the mobile photography market.

RadioShack and Skype, the Global Internet Communications Company, today announced an agreement to distribute Skype-certified hardware and software in approximately 3,500 RadioShack stores. This makes RadioShack the first U.S. retailer to offer this new Internet phone service.

Alltel and Midwest Wireless Holdings today announced they have entered into a definitive agreement for Alltel to purchase Midwest Wireless. Alltel expects to gain approximately 400,000 wireless customers in southern Minnesota, northern and eastern Iowa, and western Wisconsin. These markets are contiguous to existing Alltel operations and cover a population of 1.9 million with 850 MHz.

Intel Corporation today announced it is shipping in volume the industry's first 90-nanometer (nm) multi-level cell (MLC) NOR flash memory device. Alltel and Motorola announced today that the Motorola RAZR V3c will be available at Alltel stores nationwide starting Monday. Customers can watch live television on the new CDMA EVDO handset through MobiTV.

Cingular Wireless and Firefly Mobile, Inc. today announced the availability of the Firefly phone, a pioneering mobile phone designed specifically for kids ages 12 and under. Verizon Wireless is working in conjunction with the Federal Communications Commission to provide wireless telecommunications relief to qualified individuals who were harmed and displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
