Opera today released the much anticipated Opera Mobile 8.5 Web browser for Windows Mobile Pocket PC (PPC). Opera 8.5 beta runs on Windows Mobile 2003 and 5.0, offering Opera's full and fast Web surfing experience on the full range of Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices.

BenQ Mobile, the new business group of BenQ Corporation, today unveiled its new consumer brand BenQ-Siemens to a global audience and set out a 2006 strategy for asserting its position in the mobile handset industry.

Verizon Wireless announced today the launch of its online music service, VCAST Music. Offering customers the ability to download music over the air directly to their wireless phones, VCAST Music gives users immediate access to songs from well-known artists at major music labels Warner Music Group, EMI Music, Universal and Sony/BMG, as well as indie provider The Orchard. Nokia today expanded its porfolio of highly popular mid-range mobile phones with the stylish Nokia 6125 fold phone. Kyocera and Nokia today announced that they have entered into a patent license agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, Kyocera is licensed under Nokia's essential patents, and some additional patents, relating to CDMA, PHS and PDC standards.
