Palm today announced it will market a version of its Treo smartphone in Europe through Britain's Vodafone Group Plc. in hopes of resolving technical problems with a previous model.
The latest Treo will operate on Vodafone's high-speed third generation (3G) network and be powered by Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system. Motorola today opened a flagship retail outlet in downtown Shanghai. The outlet is the first of four planned for China and follows the launch of 50 smaller Motorola-branded retail locations over the past three months.

Cingular Wireless said on Wednesday that cable channel HBO has produced a special mobile mini-series based on the popular show "Entourage" that extends the story beyond what is shown on television.

Sanyo today announced the launch of the Sanyo Katana, an ultra-thin, affordable phone designed to appeal to fashion-centric consumers.

Cingular promised to provide uninterrupted service to AT&T Wireless customers when it acquired that company in 2004, but instead it nickel-and-dimed them and degraded their reception in an effort to persuade them to sign new contracts, according to a federal lawsuit filed on behalf of those customers.
