T-Mobile today introduced three new colors for the BlackBerry Pearl 8100 - blue, sunset (red) and pale gold. With these new colors, in addition to white and black, T-Mobile customers now have five distinct color choices to match their personal style.

AT&T today announced the availability of the Nokia 6555, a new handset engineered to take advantage of AT&T's high speed 3G network. A unique "smoothback" design, which eliminates the sharp edge found at the hinge of most conventional folding phones, makes the Nokia 6555 phone both comfortable to hold.

Spending on mobile search and display advertising will skyrocket in the coming years in the U.S., making cell phones a viable vehicle for this type of online marketing, according to research firm The Kelsey Group. Forecasting revenues to grow from $33.2 million in 2007 to $1.4 billion in 2012, the growth represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 112 percent.

Nokia said today its Nokia Maps application has been updated with an improved user interface and search functions, and a faster map download. The Nokia Maps service offers maps and routing in more than 150 countries, and is the handset maker's first step into potentially lucrative real-time positioning services, which it sees as crucial for its core business.

AT&T today announced Smart Limits for Wireless, a new Web-based service that allows parents to set usage limits on a child's talk time, text messages, instant messages (IMs) and downloads, manage how and when a child can communicate, restrict access to mobile Web sites and allocate minutes among users of shared wireless plans.
