Apple is expected to launch a high-speed wireless version of iPhone in the second quarter and produce as many as 8 million of the devices in the third quarter, according to Bank of America.
"Our latest channel checks point to a significant production build of a 3G iPhone beginning in the month of June after an initial small build in May," said Bank of America analyst Scott Craig.

AT&T and MediaFLO announced today the launch of AT&T Mobile TV with FLO, a mobile television service featuring high-quality live programming. The mobile TV service will launch in May 2008 on two new exclusive handsets, the LG Vu and the Samsung Access. AT&T Mobile TV will also feature two exclusive channels, which will be announced soon.

Motorola today announced a plan to split its struggling cell phone business from other operations to form two separate publicly traded companies.
The widely deal comes as the cell phone maker faces a second straight year of agitation from billionaire investor Carl Icahn, who has become increasingly frustrated with Motorola's eroding phone sales.

MySpace today launched MySpace Mobile on Sprint phones, allowing subscribers a fast track to their profiles on their phones.

Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII) announced today plans to develop, manufacture and market Varioptic's Liquid Lens products, offering a cost advantage for auto-focus.
