Nokia today said it would start selling a new handset, the 6212 Classic, with integrated Near Field Communication (NFC). NFC allows users to share content by connecting two phones which can receive audio files and other downloads from service providers simultaneously. The phone can also be used for payments.

CSR today demonstrated its Ultra Low Power (ULP) Bluetooth, consuming 10 times less power than standard Bluetooth. ULP Bluetooth technology has very low overheads, which makes it much faster to connect devices and much less power consumed. End products based on ULP Bluetooth will have battery standby times measured in years, not just days or weeks.

Verizon Wireless today announced an unlimited data plan for email and Internet browsing. The plan supports up to 10 personal email accounts including popular service providers such as Yahoo! Mail, AOL, Windows Live and Verizon.net. Customers can access email inboxes on select accounts creating a familiar email experience.

Sprint announced today the upcoming launch of the Sanyo Pro-200 and Pro-700, two new devices integrating Nextel Direct Connect push-to-talk (PTT) service. Powered by Qualcomm's QChat, the Pro-200 and Pro-700 operate on Sprint's Mobile Broadband EV-DO Rev. A network instead of the common iDEN network for faster data speeds.
