Nokia today introduced its 7310 Supernova, a slim and sleek handheld with Xpress-On covers etched with 3D textured designs available in Steel Blue plus a second cover in Wasabi Green or Candy Pink. A further five cover options will be available in Mushroom Silver, Plum Jam, Electric Blue, Yellow Mellow and Espresso Brown colors.

Nokia today said it is offering to buy the 52 percent of Symbian, the consortium that makes the software for its phones. Nokia plans to make it available for free to other manufacturers, in hopes of blunting the influence of competing software providers.
