T-Mobile today launched the Sidekick Shells, the newest Sidekick with the opportunity to create shells for their Sidekick with the images, colors or designs they choose.
The new Sidekick will ship with two shells: Black and Metallic Green. Pre-designed shell patterns and colors also are readily available for consumers to purchase at T-Mobile retail stores or online. But for true individualization, customers can design a unique shell through www.sidekickshells.com .

LG Electronics said today it will start adding Dolby Mobile to high-end phones later this year.
The two companies have reached a deal that will make South Korea's LG the first cell phone maker to incorporate the Mobile version of Dolby's system into its handsets. Dolby Mobile is an audio processing system designed to deliver vibrant audio, allowing users to tailor audio capabilities of cell phones. Early termination fees that cell phone carriers charge customers who break service contracts took a big hit when a judge said charges by Sprint Nextel violate California state law.
In a tentative ruling issued today, the judge said Sprint will have to pay $18.3 million to customers who sued over the fees and credit $54.8 million to those who were charged but did not pay the fees.

Children whose mothers used cell phones frequently during pregnancy are more likely to grow up with behavior problems, new research shows.
Dr. Leeka Kheifets and her team at the UCLA School of Public Health looked at a group of 13,159 children whose mothers had been recruited to participate in the Danish National Birth Cohort study early in their pregnancies. When the children reached age 7, mothers were asked to complete a questionnaire about their children's behavior and health.

Nokia held a private event at its Nokia Flagship Store in midtown Manhattan to celebrate the U.S. launch of the E71, the slimmest QWERTY device on the market.
The E71 supports Ovi services such as Nokia Maps and Share on Ovi. With integrated A-GPS and Nokia Maps 2.0, it pinpoints locations and provides turn-by-turn navigation. The device also captures high-quality images and videos with its 3.2-megapixel camera, which can be uploaded and shared around the world with the Share on Ovi service.

Sprint Nextel has agreed to sell nearly all its cell phone towers to a private-equity-backed firm called TowerCo in a deal that will generate about $670 million in cash for the struggling wireless carrier.
The nation's third-largest wireless provider said Wednesday it plans to lease space on the towers for its wireless phone and broadband operations, which it said was cheaper than owning the towers outright.

Nokia, the world's largest handset maker, and Qualcomm, the world's largest maker of chips that run cell phones, agreed to settle a high-stakes licensing dispute and drop all legal complaints against each other in the U.S., Europe and Asia.
The 15-year licensing deal gives Nokia rights to a wide portfolio of Qualcomm's patents. Nokia will pay Qualcomm an upfront sum and ongoing royalties, but the companies did not elaborate on the terms.
