Motorola announced today a partnership to produce eyewear for Oakley with Bluetooth wireless technology. The new products will allow users to control electronic devices from their sunglasses. No further details have been mentioned, but plans will be unveiled in mid 2005.
"By teaming with Motorola, we're dramatically expanding the possibilities for our new electronics category," said Cos Lykos, Oakley's Vice President of Business Development. "Oakley's engineering team now has an expanded technology arsenal to develop new and innovative electronic products."
This comes at the heels of the recently Motorola announcement at CES; partnering with Burton to design snowboarding outerwear with cell phone and MP3 technology.

Pretty neat. Sorta sci-fi-ish seeing people touch their glasses to control devices. I guess soon everything will be integrated with things we wear.

I wouldn't buy the glasses, they're expensive enough as it is. Plus what if you accidentally break them? Now you have to replace your glasses and your Bluetooth.
I don't know about you guys but I'm not a fan of smashing everything into one, like the MP3, radio, camera, whatever phones. If you want to replace one, you have to replace them all...

Excellent. Now I can absorb more radiation directly through my eyes... as if I didn't get enough. No thanks!
