Verizon Wireless and Warner Music announced an agreement to sell music video downloads to mobile devices. Through Verizon's high-speed VCAST service, consumers will be able to download content at broadband speeds.
"We believe services like VCAST, which employ 3G technology, will quickly become one of the most important and popular distribution platforms for music and music-related content," said Michael Nash, senior vice president for Internet strategy at Warner.
Each video will cost $3.99 in addition to the $15 monthly charge to access VCAST. Initially, Verizon will provide six music videos from artists such as My Chemical Romance, Sean Paul, and Simple Plan, and updates in its offerings will be on a weekly basis.
