Thailand's Election Commission sent text messages to 25 million cell phone customers politely reminding them to vote in weekend elections.
"You are cordially invited to exercise your right to vote on February 6, between 8 am and 3 pm," read the message written in Thai.
Wilai Keangpradoo, spokeswoman for Advance Info Service, Thailand's largest mobile operator said, "We will send periodic reminders until election day encouraging people to vote."
The elections take place Sunday, which over 44 million citizens are eligible to vote in. Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra is expected to win a second term.
