Siemens has acquired the personality rights for Ronaldo for a period of two years. The football star will advertise for the company in commercials and advertisements until the end of the 2006 football season. In addition, Siemens has extended its sponsoring activities to Real Madrid's men's basketball team and is supporting the technical implementation of Realmadrid TV, which will be broadcast digitally worldwide.

This year and next, Siemens can use the star striker Ronaldo in its PR and advertising. A Ronaldo mobile phone, to be sold on the Brazilian market, is also planned. Siemens is the clear market leader for mobile phones with the GSM standard in the football star's native country and operates one of three mobile phone production plants worldwide in Brazil. Ronaldo is already advertising for Siemens: In the international promotion campaign "Play, Win and Make your dream come Real", he offers the invitation in TV spots, advertisements and on the Internet to take part in a competition involving Siemens mobile phones.

Siemens has been Real Madrid's main sponsor in the football sector since July 2002 and due to the positive experience and results, Siemens has decided to extend this relationship and thus will also advertise on the shirts of the men's basketball team, a successful player in the European league.

The company is also supporting the club in the technical implementation of Realmadrid TV, the club's own digital television channel that will soon broadcast worldwide. Siemens has secured comprehensive marketing rights in this area and agreed upon extensive cooperation.

Real Madrid and Siemens will in future work even more closely together on investment projects. The company is the club's preferred partner with regard to equipping stadiums and buildings, for example with security systems, access systems and surveillance systems.
