The Motorola PEBL U6 looks like its moniker, a rounded stone-sized clamshell measuring just 49 x 87 x 20 mm in size. Calling it a mobile accessory, Motorola announced the tri-band PEBL in Cannes at the annual 3GSM World Congress.

Features an innovative dual-hinge design for easy access, the PEBL contains internal 262K-color 176 x 220 px and external 96 x 32 px LCDs.

Additionally, the PEBL features VGA camera functionality including MPEG4 video recording and playback, EDGE high-speed data transfer, Bluetooth connectivity, J2ME application downloads, MP3 ringtone support, and Motorola's ObeyMoto speaker independent voice dialing system.

Release dates are still vague; however Motorola said it expects the PEBL U6 to be released sometime in the second half of 2005.
