Motorola's New 3G Portfolio

Mon Feb 14, 2005 2:30 pm

Whether it's music, movies, video clips, games or photos that turn you on when making that decision to purchase a phone, you can be sure you will find a device that perfectly fits your needs, thanks to Motorola's new trio of 3G handsets.

Announced today at 3GSM, the stylish and smooth Motorola E1120, the smart Motorola A1010 PDA handset, and the great value, feature packed Motorola E1060 include the ultimate in imaging and represent the true meaning of multimedia.

Bringing seamless mobility to life, the Motorola D1100 PC Card, joins the trio of handsets. As Motorola's first HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) mobile device the PC card brings broadband like speeds to the mobile internet - at speeds so fast that the latest music album or important office documents can typically be downloaded in typically less than a minute.

"When it comes to 3G, people want to know that they have all of the features available even though they are likely to use some more than others," said Greg Estell, Vice President and General Manager, Motorola Mobile Devices, Europe. "With the new additions to our portfolio, we are delivering the broadest possible choice while allowing consumers to enjoy 3G experiences exactly tailored to their lifestyle."

Motorola E1120 - This sleek 'n' smooth candy bar is all about imaging. It comes with an inbuilt three megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom, 30 lux lamp for extra lighting and a dedicated camera shutter key. There has been no compromise when it comes to the E1120's video functionalities, with enhanced streaming capabilities, crystal clear playback and recording of more than 25 frames per second which can all viewed on the large, QVGA colour display. This powerful handset also includes 3D audio and dual polyphonic speakers for the best stereo sound possible.

Motorola A1010 - This sexy PDA like device is a smartphone with a difference. With corporate grade functions such as VPN support, advanced PIM management, push email, true internet browsing and Instant Messaging - you have it all at your fingertips. With 48 MB of internal memory, up to 512 MB expandable through Transflash, and the ability to download and edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents, whilst at the same time making a conference call or browsing the latest news online - it is THE mobile convergence device of the future.

However, the A1010 is not all work and no play - a large, full colour, touch screen display, two-megapixel camera, advanced gaming and audio visual capabilities make it suitable both on and off the corporate playing field.

Motorola E1060 - If you're a music fanatic this is the 3G phone for you. This feature rich handset includes video capture, download and playback. Dedicated internet browser keys give fast access to high-speed web browsing and synching, so you can keep your play lists up to date. The E1060 also features a 1.3-megapixel camera, two-way video calling, integrated speakerphone and large colour display - making this the best way to enjoy 3G services at an affordable price.

Motorola D1100 - This easy to use wireless PC card will amaze you with its impressive download speeds. Bringing broadband like speeds to the mobile internet, the D1100 is set to ease the lives and download frustrations of users everywhere. To ensure connection is never lost, this PC card is capable of a transparent handover between GSM/GPRS and UMTS networks and offers speeds up to 3.6 MB per second. Furthermore the Motorola D1100 has both data and voice functionalities with unique support for embedded WLAN capabilities.

The Motorola E1120, A1010, E1060 and D1100 will be available from Q4 2005. For pricing please contact your local Motorola representative.

Motorola is showing all of the products and services mentioned above on stand A21 in Hall 1 at 3GSM World Congress.
