T-Mobile Sidekick Owners Suffer Outage
|

Tue Mar 08, 2005 1:52 pm
Outages plagued Danger yesterday as some Sidekick users reported no service to their email instant messaging, and other data services. The severity of the issues varied throughout a 24 hour span, however most customers reporting no issues.
Danger, creator of the Sidekick and Sidekick 2, maintains service for carrier T-Mobile USA.
Downplaying the glitches, a Danger representative wrote, "This morning, some users may experience degradation in service (e.g., connection and email delay) which is currently being resolved by Danger engineers."
So far the reason for the outage is unknown; whether it was part of an attack or the result of technical difficulties. Both Danger and T-Mobile have refused to comment.
The outages are the latest in a string of problems facing Danger and T-Mobile. Both companies have come under scrutiny after thieves managed to steal emails, addresses, and photos from Paris Hilton's Sidekick, and hackers broke into a Secret Service agent's account, obtaining sensitive information.

I "believe" it is close to being resolved, hopefully! But news is may be slow at first due to the backlog of emails, etc that will need to transmit thru the system..

Not me, dont think anything would come out of doing it. T-Mobile already gave everyone a 20$ credit for the outage ontop of all those people who prob received 5$ NETOUT credits during the outage. I know its not the best compensation in the world, especially for customers that use their sidekick for business purposes but its more then they had to do.
Wonder how many people left T-Mobile because of the outage and or during it??
