Cingular and Samsung today announced the exclusive availability of the Samsung P777, the first phone in Samsung's new line of high-speed, high-bandwidth, multimedia phones. This tri-band handset, with its cool slider design, MP3 technologies and up to one hour of video recording capabilities, is a perfect device for business and pleasure.
The P777 reinforces Samsung's position as a leading supplier of high-quality, high-performance handsets in North America, as well as making Samsung the first Korean manufacturer to launch an EDGE phone in the U.S. The P777 is a perfect option for wireless users who want to take full advantage of Cingular's EDGE network.
The P777 differentiates itself from other multimedia phones with its high-speed MP3 capabilities and robust 100MB of internal memory that allows for an amazing one hour of video recording. Additionally, the P777's dual processors allow consumers to take advantage of higher data speeds to create a rich, highly personalized communication and entertainment wireless experience. Key features of the P777 include:
- Integrated MP3 audio player
- Downloadable Music Tone ringtones and games
- Integrated camcorder to record and send 30 second video clips, or record up to one hour of video
- Integrated high-performance 1.3 mega pixel camera with 4x digital zoom and brightness adjustment
- Video and picture multimedia messaging
- Text and Instant Messaging using AOL Instant Messenger
- EDGE high-speed network support
- Slider design with vibrant 262k color display
In addition to the phone's 1.3 mega pixel camera, consumers can take and send photos at a range of resolutions. They can also enhance images with the P777's built-in 4x digital zoom, adjust image brightness for capturing that perfect picture and make use of the multi-shot function. With the P777's camcorder capabilities, consumers can capture and store up to an hour of video. Additionally, the P777 gives consumer the flexibility to send video clips - up to 30 seconds in duration - to email accounts or wireless phones with compatible service via Multimedia Message Service (MMS). Users also can enhance their video clips by attaching a text message or applying one of the eight available color tones for dramatic effect. The packaged data cable also allows for easy transfer of the video files and MP3 files to a computer.
Beyond the P777's advanced imaging capabilities, the phone's MP3 player and capability to play MP3 ring tones will strike a chord with consumers. Wireless experts are predicting that music capabilities will be the hottest feature on cell phones in 2005. The P777 allows consumers to download and play their favorite tunes via the phone's Easy Studio File Manager application and data cable. The phone's EDGE capabilities also allow for speedy downloads of ringtones, screen savers and games, and the enlarged 262K-color screen makes surfing the wireless Web more visually appealing.

I don't read any bluetooth features in SGH-P777's news mentioned. Does it have any? Cos if it doesn't have bluetooth, then SGH-P777 miss one important point of modern phones. I wonder why Samsung never installed reliable infrared and bluetooth.
100 MB memory and 1 hour video recording? I wonder when SonyEricsson launch its W800. Because with 512 MB memory in its Memory Stick Duo, SonyEricsson W800 can record much longer video than SGH P777. Just an opinion.

the slider is going to be the new clamshell. the flip phone is worn out, so manufacturers need new and innovative designs to get people to buy their phones.

I like the phone but unless Samsung customer support can get the phone to Sync with my laptop it goes back on Monday. For me being able to sync my contacts with Outlook is a required feature but so far the I have not been able to get to sync.
Bluetooth I don't care.
Camera I don't care but it does take good pics.
The screen is nice.
It came with a data cable which would be good if it would sync with my laptop.
