Motorola Announces CDMA RAZR

Wed Mar 16, 2005 8:29 pm
At CTIA Wireless 2005, Motorola showcased the latest additions to its Seamless Mobility portfolio, including the ultra-thin, award winning RAZR in CDMA. Similar in design to the GSM version, the CDMA RAZR will have an upgraded 1-megapixel camera instead of the original 0.3-megapixel GSM version.
As the world's most talked about handset, the CDMA variant of the RAZR is expected to be released in Asia this summer. No official announcement has been made about North America, however, users in the States will supposedly be able to use the CDMA RAZR on Sprint PCS and Verizon Wireless networks as well.

The CDMA RAZR sounds great. But the million dollar question is will Verizon cripple it like the V710?

i'm in the same boat as you... which is why i jumped ship to cingular. their phones are much cooler and they let you use the phone functions the way manufacturers meant to.

I started with Cingular and i love em. I got a V400 which is unlocked and have successfully used a T-Mobile sim in it. Verizons other problem is that while there are over 1.5 billion people using gsm there is under 300 million using CDMA and most of them are in the states or Aisia. CDMA also has Qualcom being a sligh problem for it with its royalties. Lately CDMA usage has gone up quite fast but that is as a result of W-CDMA which is being used in some implementations of 3G gsm
