Google Adds Local Search For Mobile Devices

Providing access to Google Local from mobile devices with xHTML browsers, Google is making its local search service available to users in the United States and Canada. Available at http://mobile.google.com/local , Google Local compiles its database from addresses extracted from Google's search engine.
Coming after Yahoo's mobile search was rolled out in October, Google is also adding maps and directions through text messaging.
"We're starting to pay attention to mobile and to put more resources into mobile," said Georges Harik, Google's director of product management. "The devices have been getting better and more people are signing up for data plans, so there are more people that will benefit."

I've used it to find pizza and I can say its been very successful. When you goto the page there's just two input fields: What and Where.
For What, put in what you want to find, whether it be pizza, gas, movie, etc. Where just put in your city and state.
