Motorola announced that it has cancelled production of the MPx smartphone. Running Windows Mobile 2003 SE, the dual-hinged design had faced numerous delays in the past.
Sources say the abrupt cancellation of the MPx was partly due to Chinese regulations banning unapproved Wi-Fi devices from being sold in the country. And rather than removing the feature completely, Motorola decided to instead cancel production altogether.
Although the MPx will not be released in North America, it was released earlier in Malaysia and several small Asian markets.
