"The BREW 2005 Conference is a perfect venue to announce this phone because its features are ideal for using BREW applications such as games and ringtones," said Lee Ittner, vice president of global sales and marketing at Kyocera Wireless Corp. "There is definitely still a need in the market for an attractive and functional bar-style phone at the lower price tier, and Dorado is unlike anything we've ever done before."

The Kyocera Dorado KX13 is a slim entry-level bar-style phone with an internal antenna, built-in LED flashlight and a large, vivid color display. Its robust, front-ported speakerphone is ideal for hands-free talking and listening as well as for crisp, clear sound to play 32-chord polyphonic ringtones. Dorado's high-capacity battery offers superior performance, allowing up to 3.8 hours of CDMA talk time and up to 160 hours of standby time.

Kyocera Dorado KX13 also features predictive text-input software for rapid text entry on the phone's brilliant-blue backlit keypad. Equipped with a WAP 2.0 browser for Web access and capable of supporting BREW 2.1 or Java, Dorado can download wallpapers, screensavers, games and ringtones directly over the air to augment those included on the phone. Measuring 4.37 in. x 1.93 in. x .83 in. and weighing only 3.7 ounces, the phone also includes standard features such as scheduler, calculator, alarm clock, stopwatch, tip calculator and a world clock.
