Motorola and Cingular are once again raising the bar for mobile style - this time with a handset known as the Motorola RAZR Black - the "must have" sequel to the Motorola RAZR.
The Motorola RAZR Black debuted as an exclusive gift to Hollywood luminaries during the 77th Annual Academy Awards. All directing and acting nominees, including Hilary Swank, Cate Blanchett, Jamie Foxx and Clint Eastwood, received the super-sleek handset in anticipation to the big event. With a VGA camera, the Motorola RAZR Black leverages Cingular's MEdia services like Picture Messaging and Cingular Sounds, enabling users to conveniently share pictures taken with the phone and easily download music. Cingular subscribers can take advantage of these MEdia services and save money by signing up for a MEdia bundle - a cost effective monthly package which includes Text, Instant and Picture Messaging as well as MEdia Net. "Motorola RAZR Black is an exciting sequel to the original. Taking design cues from the wildly popular and revolutionary Motorola RAZR, the jet-black version introduces a new and sophisticated flare," said Jim Wicks, vice president of consumer experience design at Motorola, Inc. "We are excited to bring Motorola RAZR Black to market on the heels of the immensely popular silver version," said David Christopher, vice president product management, Cingular Wireless. "With sleek sophistication, this sequel to the original delivers innovative style and compelling functionality, exclusively from Cingular." Aircraft-grade aluminum, magnesium and nickel-plated copper alloy metals comprise the handset's slim silhouette. Video playback and integrated Bluetooth wireless technology complement the Motorola RAZR Black feature set - creating a smart, chic and highly desirable communications device. Make Your Mark Beginning mid-July, Cingular Wireless customers will also have the option of personalizing their Motorola RAZR Black. For $19.99 plus shipping and handling, Cingular will engrave the battery door of the phone and ship it to the desired address within approximately 4-6 weeks.
