"Motorola's vision of seamless mobility is all about technology revolving around you... effortlessly," said Ed Zander, chairman and chief executive officer of Motorola. "We're making that real today with our 'whoa' products. Whoa is more than wow. It's the ultimate combination of cool, cutting-edge technology and fashion-forward design. Seamless mobility is here, it's MOTONOW."

Here is a look at the new products and technologies premiered at Motorola's MOTONOW:

Q - The thinnest, lightest QWERTY phone on the planet is here: introducing Motorola Q. A seamless fusion of QWERTY and mobile phone technology, the Q delivers email, voice, and entertainment in one amazingly rich but thin device. This fully loaded phone features Motorola's renowned RAZR-thin design, along with flexible email thanks to Microsoft's latest Windows Mobile 5.0 software. Smart, hardworking and powerful, the Moto Q will help mobile professionals improve productivity through the power of seamless mobility.

Motorola and Oakley Launch RAZRWIRE - Consumers can now get outside, get moving and stay connected, with the RAZRWIRE Bluetooth eyewear. Bringing cutting-edge Bluetooth wireless technology to Oakley's high-performing eyewear, RAZRWIRE empowers active consumers to bike, hike, boat and play while experiencing hands-free, cable-free connections to Bluetooth-enabled devices. The RAZRWIRE will be available in early August online at www.hellomoto.com, www.oakley.com, www.cingular.com and at select Cingular Wireless retail stores.

Motorola Ojo Video Mail - Leave a message and don't forget to smile! Now, there's no need to wait by your Motorola Ojo Personal Video Phone to see a familiar face. With Ojo Video Mail, you can record a video greeting for incoming calls, and callers can leave a video message, which your Ojo will save for playback later on. Like live video calls made through the Motorola Ojo, Video Mail offers high-quality video and perfectly synchronized audio.

Motorola WiMAX Solutions - Designed to deliver rich multimedia and high-speed wireless broadband services at a fraction of the cost of 2.5G or 3G cellular networks, Motorola's new Moto Wi4 product portfolio of WiMAX (802.16e) solutions will use all-IP access technology and peer-to-peer architecture to eliminate much of the hierarchical cellular network equipment and reduce capital and operational costs.

Motorola Canopy Solutions - Motorola is announcing a multi-million dollar contract for its Canopy wireless broadband equipment with the Philippines' SMART Communications. The Canopy platform will provide reliable, high-speed Internet connectivity enabling SMART to deliver broadband and data services at an affordable cost for that market.

MOTOFWRD - Motorola is launching MOTOFWRD, a nationwide scholarship competition that challenges college students to depict - either through words or visuals - how seamless mobility will look in the future. Entries will be judged by a panel of today's most creative and forward-thinking minds, including youth culture expert Dee Dee Gordon, sci-fi author Cory Doctorow and futurist Dr. James Canton, among others. Students can submit entries online at www.motorola.com/motofwrd beginning September 1 for a chance to win $10,000 and a Bluetooth-enabled car.

Other products highlighted at the event include:

Motorola's ROKR Family of Music Phones - Motorola highlighted their upcoming portfolio of music phones, targeted to millions of music lovers around the globe. The ROKR E1 and ROKR E2 will include phones that offer dedicated music keys, optimized music player interface, superior audio capability, extensive memory (internal or removable), and a long battery life.

Motorola PEBL and SLVR - Hitting markets around the world this year, Motorola showcased the new Motorola PEBL and SLVR. The PEBL is indisputably elegant with its round and smooth shape. This unique clam has a "self-assist" mechanism that allows users to operate and open the phone one-handed and comes in a highly polished metal finish adding to its effortlessly cool appearance. Redefining the device formerly known as the candy bar, the SLVR is RAZR-thin and stealth-like weighing in at only 85 grams. Packed into its sleek candy bar form is an integrated VGA camera, Bluetooth connectivity, digital audio player and EDGE high-speed data exchange.

Motorola E815 - Be mobile and be entertained. The Motorola E815 - powered by mobile broadband speeds, CDMA 1X and EV-DO technology - lets you enjoy Verizon Wireless V CAST technology and receive news clips, sports updates and more.

Motorola's MOTOMESH Multi-Radio Broadband Solution - Supporting high-speed data, video and position location services for fixed and mobile users, MOTOMESH empowers municipalities to enhance public safety by giving first responders secure and dedicated 4.9GHz mobile broadband access - anywhere and at anytime.

Motorola Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) - Assisting law enforcement professionals, the Motorola ALPR automatically locates and captures an image of a license plate, processes characters, compares to a hot list and sends the decoded plate information to a database application for quick identity verification - providing increased officer safety and efficiency.

blnc Bluetooth Car Kit IHF1000 - Hop into your car and communicate hands-free and wire-free. Just turn on the ignition and your conversation will be seamlessly transitioned from your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone or headset to the in-car system. Initiating a hands-free call is as simple as pushing a button on the stylish chrome keypad and speaking the name or number you wish to dial. Incoming calls are also announced, so you decide whether you'd like to accept or reject the call. At your destination and on a call? Simply turn off the ignition and the call will automatically transfer back to your mobile phone or headset without interruption.

Whole-Home Media - The days of tuning in to entertainment are over - now entertainment is tuned in to you! Experience seamless access to all your favorite digital media when and where you want it. Now your sports highlights go with you from the kitchen to the bedroom, your digital pictures are displayed on your big-screen television, and your music collection plays on your living room stereo.

MOTONOW will be held on July 25, 2005 from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM CDT at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Rosemont, IL.

honestly I think that the razrwire looks stupid and impracticle. I'm kinda debateing if I should've waited for the slvr though, cause its lighter than my razr.

Agreed that Razrwire looks lame. The Pebl might be just the ticket to replace my V551. I'd like to see some photos and specs on the music phones (the so-called ROKR line).
