Concert Tours Come to Verizon VCAST

By Allen Tsai | Wed Aug 10, 2005 5:59 am

The hottest Latin music concert tour of the year "Juntos En Concierto" (Together in Concert) featuring superstars Chayanne, Alejandro Fernandez and Marc Anthony, is coming to 15 cities throughout the nation and directly to your wireless phone. Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless provider, and Clear Channel Entertainment Properties, announced that segments from three of the historic concert dates will be broadcast on the VCAST Encore Channel - a new VCAST channel exclusive to Verizon Wireless VCAST customers broadcasting concert performances from top music artists.

Subscribers to the VCAST service and fans of the three music stars will be able to re-live their concert experiences in the days following select shows, watching videos of the exciting performances on the VCAST Encore Channel for one week and at no additional charge. The VCAST Encore Channel is part of the exciting array of content available through VCAST, Verizon Wireless' multimedia service delivering crystal clear short content on-demand, 3D games and music videos to wireless phones.

"This is an exciting part of our relationship with Clear Channel Entertainment Properties that brings three Latino superstars to our VCAST service," said Oscar Madrid, director, multicultural marketing, Verizon Wireless. "Clear Channel's broad and diverse artist relationships are enabling us to expand our content offerings to meet the interests of our diverse customer base."

"Wireless is the future of digital entertainment and the concert clips on VCAST have been a huge hit so far," said Bruce Eskowitz, president of Clear Channel Entertainment Properties. "This latest concert tour is a great opportunity to provide fans with exciting entertainment and we look forward to doing more."

The VCAST Encore Channel is a continuation of Verizon Wireless' focus on delivering music to its customers, which began with ring tones and was followed by the launch of Ringback Tones. The VCAST launch earlier this year offered customers full-length music videos. Now, because of the quality of Verizon Wireless' high-speed EV-DO network and the company's relationship with Clear Channel Entertainment Properties, VCAST customers have the opportunity to enjoy songs from their favorite artists from concerts taking place across the country.
