Suffering several setbacks with no concrete evidence it would ever come to market; service providers initially refused to carry it, afraid Apple would reap the benefits of music purchases at their expense.

Through intense negotiations, the ROKR E1 has made it to U.S. store shelves, and plans to be launched globally shortly thereafter. Being more than just an MP3 player, the ROKR E1 is a communication device with iTunes functionality; allowing users can easily purchase and download songs, seamlessly play them while text messaging or browsing the web, and pause when calls come in. With 3D stereo sound via dual 22 kHz speakers, users can crank up their favorite song for a richer, deeper, and crisper musical experience.

Featuring a color display for viewing album art, dual built-in stereo speakers, and stereo headphones that also serve as a mobile headset with microphone, the ROKR E1 is unlike any other music phone released on the market today.
