Cingular Wireless and Orange SA will provide consolidated mobile services to multinational companies in the U.S. and Europe under Cingular's WorldView program, the two companies announced today.
Cingular and Orange customers with operations in the U.S., Great Britain, France, Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland now can access and manage their combined Cingular and Orange wireless usage and expenditures through a secure online portal, called WorldView Wireless Information Navigator, which is available exclusively to WorldView customers. In addition to this combined domestic/international management capability, Cingular customers who are signed up under Cingular's flagship business offer, Cingular Corporate Digital Advantage (CCDA), can now also apply their wireless usage with Orange to their minimum usage commitment under CCDA to qualify for volume discounts with the WorldView Global Discount Program. "Cingular's new and valued relationship with Orange gives us an even greater capability to serve the needs of our multinational customers given Orange's significant presence in Europe," said Joe Lueckenhoff, Vice President, Business Mobility and Marketing, for Cingular Wireless. "Cingular provides wireless services to a world-class roster of clients, including 95 of the Fortune 100 companies and more than 80 percent of the Fortune 500. Many of them conduct operations in countries served by Orange. This alliance gives these customers much greater cost and administrative efficiencies by consolidating their domestic and international wireless usage and managing it through a single, centralized process." Cingular and Orange account representatives also will collaborate to provide a consolidated response to customers' trans-Atlantic purchase requests and major bids. This single point of contact approach will allow customers to cut down on the costs and time spent working with multiple suppliers while making it easier for them to implement global procurement and technology policies. "Multinational companies tell us that procurement and leveraging economies of scale are two of their biggest headaches," says Philippe Bernard, Executive Vice President, Orange Business Solutions. "Our reciprocal arrangement with Cingular via the Worldview program eases that pain. By providing our multinational customers with the right services, tools and support we can help our customers do business better, and more efficiently. Furthermore, we believe this arrangement further strengthens our competitive position and underlines our commitment to deliver to businesses." Cingular WorldView is a coordinated, easy-to-use international wireless program. It helps multinational companies simplify global wireless purchasing, coordinate service in multiple countries, take advantage of Cingular's relationships with carriers abroad to get attractive rates, and coordinate domestic and international account management while enabling them to satisfy their Cingular wireless usage commitment more easily. In addition to its relationship with Orange, Cingular also has alliances for its WorldView program with other carriers serving such countries as Austria, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy and Switzerland. Cingular also provides significant international wireless coverage for its U.S. customers via roaming agreements with Orange and other carriers in more than 170 countries for voice and over 90 countries for data.
