Sprint Releases the Samsung MM-A900 to Challenge the RAZR

Tue Nov 29, 2005 5:43 pm

Sprint and Samsung today introduced the ultra-thin MM-A900. Measuring just over a half-inch thick, the ultra-compact MM-A900 is the thinnest Power Vision phone available from Sprint. Made of magnesium, a lightweight metal, the handset's unique look and feel will delight the fashion-conscious user. In addition, the sleek handset's large, crisp display and stereo speakers are ideal for watching live TV with full-motion video with vivid sound. Harnessing the speed of Sprint's Power Vision EVDO network, the Samsung MM-A900 enables customers to access the latest news, music and entertainment content at broadband-like speeds.

The samsung MM-A900 is a RAZR knockoff and most people recognize that and do not appreciate it. E.g. Louis Vouitton logo vs. Dooney and Bourke logo...which one is the original?

Thin sells and everyone knows it, and the MM-A900 can't really "challenge" the RAZR when it's only available for Sprint.

you got that right!!! the razr suscks and the a900 is so much cleaner pics and video is unreal!! awesume quality and the sterio sound,oh also may i add the mp3 player rocks too icon_devil.gif but lags the storage only 47m. icon_sad.gif but thats all good though you get 2 copys one for the cell and for your pc, so ya can delete it from the cell and use the blutooth or the usb cable and put goodys from your pc to cell icon_smile.gif and sprint has way better features than verizons get it now crap!! can you hear me now?? good!!! icon_devil.gif and this blutooth is not crippled like verizon!! you can transfer files easy to your pc and back to the cell with NO COMPLICATIONS!! get the a900 you will see a HUGE DIFFERENCE in quality clear pics and video,mp3 with sterio sound!! and the huge screen is 262k very clear, i think its more than 262k?? ive seen lots of phones and i never seen such a clean phone like the a900,the razrs cool but lags quality icon_frown.gif i saw the new v3c----v3x----v3i--- and not releasaed yet except v3c and let me tell ya the a900 beats them all thats the ohnest truth.. i was in japan on vacation and was at a electronics show and seen all the future phones for 2006-2007 the a900 is the way to go icon_smile.gif but the v3x was fairly impressive same size as the razr but thicker by 16mm, but again it laged the quality!!

Everything sounds good about it, but no expansion card slot.. icon_sad.gif
Means you can use only 47MB for mp3s.. which is what? 10-15 mp3s?
They pus such a nice audio system on it (72chord polyphonic) , but then crippled it with no memory expansion and that makes it hardly a music phone.

Camera could have been 2MP or even 3.2, but 1.3 is better than most of the rest too.
Awesome battery life - over 8hrs. and screen seems to be good, despite having 262K and not 16M colors.

Wait for the V3i to come out... then the real challenge will begin!

I have heard the MM900 hasn't done as well from some Sprint retail sales friends. One of them said some don't like becuase it's to close to the Razr and the lack of expansion that the new Razr's will be coming out with.

I have seen and used the MMA900 it looked cool and its use seemed complicated to use although I am not sure if it's the Sprint UI or the Samsung setup of the phone.
