Samsung today unveiled an uncompromising product portfolio for 2006, led by the most diverse and advanced slim phone line up for North America. Samsung's six new slim phones average slightly less than half-inch thick and deliver unprecedented design and multimedia innovations. The aggressive slim phone rollout emphasizes the company's heritage as a global design and technology powerhouse and addresses consumers' desire for thinner handset designs without sacrificing advanced multimedia features.
Samsung's slim phones on display at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) integrate features and design elements not available on competitors' devices. The company is showcasing its A900, T809, and D807 - developed for the North American market. These devices offer advanced features such as mobile television capabilities, high-speed Web connectivity, Bluetooth wireless technology and megapixel cameras and camcorders. The phones, available in slider, card and clamshell designs, also incorporate design elements - such as external multimedia navigation keys - that enhance consumers' experience.
Samsung's highly anticipated A900 thin phone marries form and function and helped launch Sprint Nextel's Power Vision EVDO network in the U.S. in November 2005. Constructed of lightweight, industrial magnesium, the A900 is the thinnest Sprint Power Vision phone, enabling full-music track downloads over the air, a U.S. industry first. The A900 also features a 1.3 megapixel camera, camcorder with a flash and zoom, pictBridge-enabled printing capabilities, Bluetooth wireless technology and phone-as-modem functionality.
The T809's sleek, flat design and large, full-color screen evokes the look and feel of high-end plasma televisions. The elegant slider phone, available through T-Mobile, features a 1.3 megapixel camera/camcorder, Bluetooth wireless technology, an MP3 player supported by external stereo speakers, 70MB of internal memory and a T-Flash memory card.
Samsung's D807 slim slider-designed multimedia phone gives users the flexibility to travel internationally with GSM quad-band networks. Featuring a 1.3 megapixel camera with a flash, an MP3 player, and a microSD memory slot that provides up to 512MB of storage, users can quickly and easily access their digital music and imaging files.
