Jerry Wang, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer of BenQ Corporation commented, "We have now successfully united the two companies at an operation level and today marks the start of the next phase in our development - to engage consumers worldwide with the spirit and energy of our combined BenQ-Siemens brand. I believe we have the focus, resources and passion to invigorate the market in 2006, especially in 3G and that our strategy will lead to a sustainable and successful handset business that commands a significant share of the market."

Additionally, to mark the launch of BenQ-Siemens, the company unveiled today the first three products to carry the new joint brand name - EF81, S68 and S88:

UMTS in an Ultra-Slim Pocket Format - BenQ-Siemens EF81

The new BenQ-Siemens EF81 folding device from BenQ Mobile is only a slender 15.9 millimeters thin and is yet full of surprises. Whether movie trailer, music video or current sports broadcastmovies on the mobile are pure fun with the 2.2-inch internal display and 262,144 colors. Any content desired can be downloaded in an instant from the internet via the UMTS data turbo. Moreover, shooting one's own photos or videos is now child's play. Creativity knows no bounds with the 2.0-megapixel camera. The BenQ-Siemens EF81 has any amount of space available for music, photos and movies too. And if 64 MB of internal memory are not enough, an additional Micro-SD-Card with up to 1 GB of storage capacity is a useful option.

Luxury in Simplicity - BenQ-Siemens S68

Maximum convenience is afforded by the particularly clear and self-explanatory menu structure. Bold graphic icons make navigation easy and intuitive, without even having to glance at the operating instructions. There is even a separate quick-dial button on the side of the casing for calling important (emergency) number. Any kind of text can always be read with ease on the large, transflexive color display (1.8 inch, 132 x 176 pixels, and 262,144 colors) irrespective of whether the sun is shining brightly or the sky is overcast. This premium mobile with dual speaker system, an integrated handsfree function and 64-tone ringtones meets the highest demands for acoustic quality and even cuts a good figure as a dictating machine, too. Now, instead of laboriously typing in a text message, a short voice message can simply be dictated and sent via MMS.

The built-in organizer can be coordinated quickly and simply via the attractive Desktop SyncStation DSC-100 with Outlook or Lotus Notes on the PC or thanks to Bluetooth, without even using any cables at all. Thus the appointments and address data on the mobile phone are always fully up to date. In addition, a wide selection of original BenQ Mobile-Accessories such as headsets and car kit solutions can be attached to the mobile wirelessly via Bluetooth, making using the mobile even more convenient still. Being particularly light and compact, the new, fashionably slender design of the Bluetooth HHB-100 headset offers sterling sound quality and is extremely comfortable to wear. Additionally the Car Kit Bluetooth HHB-600 offers superb audio quality for convenient and secure handsfree telephony while driving. Lastly, with its Dual Speaker System, the integrated handsfree function and 64-tone ringtones, the BenQ-Siemens S68 also meets the most discerning acoustic requirements.

Superlative Multimedia Enjoyment - BenQ-Siemens S88

The BenQ-Siemens S88 boasts the entire bandwidth of multimedia functions. An integrated 2.0-megapixel camera with autofocus, 16x digital zoom and LED photolight ensure perfect souvenir photos without any irritating picture noise - even in poor light conditions or indoors. This compact mobile phone is held in a horizontal position like a "real" digital camera when photographs are being taken. Then the built-in photo editor puts the finishing touches to the shots. To put the pictures on paper, they can be simply sent directly from the mobile to a photo printer via PictBridge.

A high-performance video camera is always to hand too with BenQ-Siemens S88. Movie sequences of any length desired can be shot in MPEG4 format. Sufficient storage capacity is guaranteed. To extend the internal memory (16 MB), the mobile has a slot provided for Micro-SD-Cards. Of course, the shots can also be viewed immediately on the mobile's screen. Photos and videos show to brilliant advantage on the 2.0-inch Active Matrix OLED display (262,144 colors, 176 x 220 pixels).

The BenQ-Siemens S88 plays in the premier league in the acoustic field too. The integrated music player for MP3 and the memory-saving formats AAC+ und AMR provide musical variety on the way to the office or while doing sports. Superior quality 3D surround sound from the stereo headset that comes with the mobile lusciously pampers the ears. The sound can be adjusted with the aid of the integrated equalizer, enabling radio dramas, pop music and classical music to always be played in premium sound quality.

This premium-class mobile's extensive functionality is mirrored optically in its sleek, elegant design. The high-quality metallic finish underscores its noble appearance.
