This year, Motorola is giving Oscar nominees a special-edition PEBL phone in a gunmetal color finish. Recipients will also receive Motorola's new H700 Bluetooth headset and three months of T-Mobile wireless service.

Inspired by the feel of a stone worn smooth by water, the Motorola PEBL features an innovative form with rounded edges, a vertical external display and unique dual-hinge mechanism for effortless, one-handed opening. In addition to the eye-catching shape, the PEBL is fully functional allowing users to browse the World Wide Web, share multimedia files and includes integrated Bluetooth technology.
The H700 Bluetooth headset offers Motorola's most advanced features. Boasting exceptional call clarity from noise reduction engineering and Motorola's exclusive RapidConnect technology, the H700 is also 30% smaller than its predecessor.
Last year Motorola gave nominees the Black RAZR, a special device that eventually made its way to store shelves. In keeping with Motorola's traditional Oscar phone efforts, the Academy Award's directing and acting nominees' phones will be packaged in a custom made, keepsake box. This year's package is reminiscent of a classic movie theatre ticket and is personalized with the category and name of each nominee in acknowledgement of their recognition by the Academy.

Man they get everything. They need to give this stuff out to people who need it. I mean come on I dont think Reese Witherspoon really needs a cell phone with a free three month subscription and a bad ass bluetooth device. Man I wish I was a
celeb............some day, some day ......tear

I give it another three months before it hits shelves. This won't stay "exclusive" for long. Once the press machine starts buzzing, it's free publicity to ramp up the eventual launch. Brilliant.

Why would you want a PEBL anyway ? It's nothing that special.

Motorola keeps pumping out old phones with different faceplates. The PEBL is a piece of junk. It doesn't even have EDGE!

Maybe it's the picture, but I don't see that big of a difference between "gunmetal" and "regular."
It's just... shinier.
