As the world's most exclusive and expensive mobile device, the Vertu Signature is assembled entirely by hand, using 404 individual parts and going through 96 rigorous inspections. Carefully crafted of either stainless steel, 18-carat yellow and/or white gold, platinum, or encrusted with diamonds, the Vertu Signature is not just a communication device, but a work of art.
Offering a Yamaha synthesizer for exceptional polyphonic sound, the AKG speaker is housed in a specially designed acoustic cavity to ensure high-fidelity and unique Vertu sound. Using one of the world's largest commercially produced sapphire crystals, the LCD is protected by a scratch-resistant display. Made of durable ceramic, the Vertu Signature's ear pillow is warm to the touch, while the back plate uses a scratch-resistant partly translucent compound, emulating the luster of lacquered wood.
But perhaps the most exclusive feature is not actually found on the phone. New consumers have access to around the world Concierge Service, free for the first year. With global network of personal support staff available twenty-four hours a day, anywhere in the world, users can receive expert information on travel and entertainment, book reservations, and get preferred rates, simply by pressing the dedicated key on the side of the phone.

Jesus. I'd never put that much money into a phone. Vertu owners who make a phone call are just looking to get mugged.

Love the design.
That's what they should have given to the Oscar nominees instead fo the PEBL

I saw a guy carrying one the other day. Boy is it beautiful. The pictures don't really do it justice. It's definitely better looking in person. Forget the RAZR... I want the Vertu!

The Vertu Signature has been out for years. They just redesigned it for 2006. IMHO it's just an overpriced uber-expensive paperweight.

I prefer the Ascent series myself.
