Combining an ultra-thin profile with a hot pink exterior, Motorola announced the release of the Pink SLVR L6 in the UK.

Featuring the futuristic look of Motorola SLVR L7 on Cingular, the SLVR L6 offers an even thinner profile at just under 11 mm. But unlike the L7, the SLVR L6 lacks iTunes or a memory expansion slot, but still integrates a VGA camera with an auto-timer and 4x digital zoom, Bluetooth connectivity, and MP3 ringtones.

While the Pink SLVR is only available overseas, bundled with T-Mobile UK service (rather than T-Mobile USA), consumers can purchase the unlocked phone to bring stateside to use on GSM networks (Cingular and T-Mobile). Motorola plans to release it in North America for Cingular in August.

According to Motorola, "The Motorola L6 is perfect for girls who like to be out and about."

In line with Motorola's recent pink trend, the Pink SLVR joins the previously released Pink RAZR for Cingular, the Pink RAZR V3c for Verizon Wireless, and colorful range of PEBLs for T-Mobile.

A Pink SLVR L7 was later released by Cingular for Mother's Day.

Is it just me or does it look like half of Motorola's cell phone releases are pink nowadays?

its a relatively cheap way to rerelease an existing product. why put money into putting out a new device when you can paint it pink? business.
