Players can use their cell phone to create Sims and the world around them, managing their life, motives, and moods. To satisfy the daily wants, needs, and demands, gamers need to grow career skills, buy special home furnishings, and developing relationships with neighbors.
Based on the wildly popular Sims franchise, The Sims 2 lets players enjoy the virtual-life game on-the-go, with an intuitive 'one thumb' gameplay design. The "Connected Edition" allows fans to save time by downloading content from their Sims PC game directly to their wireless phones.
Verizon Wireless customers can download and play The Sims 2 Connected Edition for $4.99 monthly access or $9.99 for unlimited use purchase; or The Sims 2 for $3.99 monthly access or $7.99 unlimited use purchase.
I'm not sure if I'll like this or not. From what I hear, the version on the GSM phones just isn't that great. I'll still try it, however, just to see if it plays well. If it does, then sure, I'll stick with it. Otherwise...

The "connected edition" sounds lke the best deal that you can pickup from where you left off on your PC

Something troubles me. I was looking to try it, see how the game is on my phone... well, from my LG VX8000, I was unable to find it. However, when I checked only the un-connected edition is available only for low-mid grade models (LG VX6000, 4500, Samsung SCH-a650 Motorola V2xx, Audiovox 80xx and the 8900). However, the more expensive and connected edition is available for the more expensive handsets. How's that for funny?
I downloaded the Connected edition, and I realized something as I was playing this: any parent will hate this game. The game is only 650kb large, because all the content is downloaded to the handset. And, well, that's standard airtime being used. I'll go ahead and play when my N&W minutes start applying and seeing if the game's actually worth it.

I've started to play the Connection Edition, and I am not a fan of this at all.
The character creation system is stagnant at best. Your choices in face styles, hair styles, and clothes are pretty robust--even if each item has to be downloaded seperately, however lacks the awesomeness of custom content. As well, it's a sprite based game attempting to look 3d, so you can't rotate the character and see what you're getting. With the advent of EV-DO, I was hoping for 3d rendering. For greater handset exposure, however, I guess this is a good medium.
It might just be the sluggish controls of a wireless phone, or perhaps the isometric display, but it handles like an Oldsmobile with a broken axle. When you press up, you actually don't move up towards to the top of the screen, you move towards the top-right corner. If you press down, you move to the bottom-left corner. It's rather frustrating.
Handling your sim isn't something that I've spent much time on. Getting their aspirations are pretty easy. Move furniture, tickle, &c., and they start off with jobs as soon as you move them in. However the sluggish controls and the screen limitations bog down quick gameplay, and unable to change the game speed seriously reduces the fun.
My initial impression of the game is poor, I'm giving it a 3/10. I'll be playing more tonight so I don't charge up my bill and see if I can get a more well-formed opinion.

That's disappointing. I was hoping it was more like the PC game... so what good is the Connection Edition over the regular then?

are you kidding me? I have played the PC version and its a bit different from the PC version because your job is already picked out for you; however, it is still just as addicting. Luckily, I have a good plan that allows me to play as much as I want. Not as many options as the PC version but that is expected afterall it is a cellphone game. MY SCORE is A-
