Yeah. VX phones.
That's the problem.
LG is a Korean manufacturer. They produce with near flawless quality CDMA phones. GSM phones are a different story, however. GSM is something of a new market for them, and their GSM components, and also phone designs, are hardly developed at all.
They're just now becoming better...

I normally hated LG phones myself until I got the CG300... I only got it because it was the newest of the PTT phones and since I already had the service and my last phone broke, I went ahead and got the CG300... Now that I have it, Im pleased to say its a very good phone (PTT or not) and it works really well in most environments ive been in so far (even when there are no bars)... I have no complaints

The Bluetooth on this phone is virtually useless! I just bought 2 of these BECAUSE the phone has Bluetooth so I can download my address book into the phone... Problem is that the phone is only capible of printing to a Bluetooth printer and connecting to a headset - there is NO support for computer interface for downloading contacts, schedule, midi or picture files.
Other than that, it's a great feeling phone. I was in the store choosing between the CG300 and the other Bluetooth-enabled PTT phone, the Samsung D357; and, ended up choosing the LG for it's look and feel. The buttons are easier to feel and push and the camera takes pretty darn good pictures (significanly better than the Motorola phone I was getting rid of). So, rather than getting one LG and one Samsung, I ended up getting both LGs. Then to get home and discover the complete lacking of significant Bluetooth function... Thank goodness for Cingular's 30-day retrun policy or I'd be cancelling my service with them right now for false advertising.

Ok well don't get it, nobody is twisting your arm here... bye.
The data cable available in cingular stores is for tethering to a computer.
They also sell a data cable/software for transferring ringtones, pictures, etc. However it's not available in Cingular stores.

Does anyone actually know if the phone will allow ringtone transfers with the data cable? I was disappointed with the bluetooth transfer on this phone, but if I can transer with USB it will be alright. Just dont want to go and buy one and it not work either.

It will allow you to do that, but you have to get the correct software (likely available from LG)
