As early as this year games such as blackjack, roulette, video poker and slots will be Introduced on handheld devices provided by Cantor Gaming, an affiliate of the financial services company Cantor Fitzgerald.

The long-term agreement with Cantor Gaming provides mobile gaming services to The Venetian and the currently under-construction Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino, making it the exclusive provider of mobile gaming services to Las Vegas Sands properties in Nevada.

Instrumental in the Nevada legislature's adoption of Assembly Bill 471 signed into law in June 2005, Cantor became the first company licensed by the Nevada Gaming Commission as a manufacturer, distributor, and operator of a mobile gaming system. The bill permits wireless gaming on hand-held, mobile devices in public areas of a resort casino, such as restaurants, nightclubs and pool side.

Cantor's field trial for mobile gaming will be conducted at The Venetian upon receipt of the required regulatory approvals, which is expected to occur in late 2006 or early 2007.

So the casino is going to give its customers cell phones, which then can also gamble on?
