Don't be surprised if you call someone this summer and you're greeted by a popular recording artist. Cingular today released personalized Answer Tones from recording artists such as Juvenile, Yung Joc, Trillville, The Wreckers, Ice T, Jamie Kennedy & Stu Stone, Blake Shelton, and Cham.
As part of the "Say My Name" promotion, Cingular customers can find their name among the "Say My Name" Answer Tones and select the WMG artist who they would like to greet their callers. Several of WMG's award-winning artists have pre-recorded 20 second greetings for many of today's most popular names. For example, UTP/Atlantic recording artist Juvenile recorded the following "Say My Name" Answer Tone: "Wassup, this ya boy Juve The Great, Juvenile that is, and look, you ain't gonna believe this; Jennifer can't find her cell phone! Again! That's right. It might be buried in her purse, maybe she left it at home, but I can assure you, right now she's trying hard to find it and answer this call. While she's looking, that means you gotta listen to my voice for a while." Cingular Answer Tones gives customers the flexibility and control to determine what callers hear when they dial their number: - Select the type of tones callers hear - from an audio clip of a particular song, or one of the celebrity "Say My Name" greetings - Designate the time of day you want callers to hear Answer Tones - Assign tones to a specific phone number, group, or to everyone that calls The charge for each Answer Tone purchase is $1.99, in addition to a monthly service charge of $0.99. The "Say My Name" Answer Tones promotion will run for the next four weeks with the catalog continuing to grow throughout the period.
