The new LG VX8300 improves on the highly-successful VX8100 to offer a sleek new look and music-on-demand capabilities through Verizon Wireless' VCAST Music Store.
Built for music lovers, the VX8300 combines the VCAST Muisc to let consumers search, buy, and download music to rock out on; through dual stereo speakers or on a Bluetooth enabled stereo headset. Consumers can also access VCAST Video to stream video clips from today's most popular channels.
Additionally features include a 1.3-megapixel camera/video recorder to capture special moments, EV-DO broadband access for high-speed mobile Web, advanced voice recognition for voice commands, and Simultaneous GPS for turn-by-turn directions.

The 8300 is finally available in my area, and I'm due for my every two. However, it is one of four phones that will require me to change my contract. This is my first time renewing my contract and taking advantage of the every two program, so I was wondering if anyone had any advice? The big difference is that I now have unlimited TXT for $5 and if I change my contract it would go up to $10. Don't I have to change my contract anyways? Or is it only with these few new phones which I've been waiting for?

It's that time of the season. Phones come out in spurts every three months.

Decent features. Ugly design. Being an LG it'll probably break after a few weeks too.

mgoblue, you sound like you've never owned an LG phone. I've had three and they're terrific. Build quality is terrific and the 8300 is no exception.
It's also a beautiful phone.

Yea, GSM phone do tend to be more cheaper than the CDMA Phones. That's why when you try to buy a LG without a contract it costs over $200 Dollars. I have the Lg 8100 And i was about to update my phone to the New Motorola V3m but after careful research, LG is a more Solid Company than Motorola. Plus, LG stands behind everyphone.

I never knew there was a difference in quality between GSM and CDMA. Are any other manufacturers like this too?

On the left-hand side of the phone is a small button for voice command. With cover open, hold it in and it becomes a recorder. You can also access it by going into Get it Now>>>Get tunes and tones>>>My Sounds>>>Record New.
Hit OK to begin recording and OK to stop. The sound will automatically save in "My sounds" as a numerical file. Select the top file and hit OK to send the file to your own phone number. After you receive it, you have the option to save it as a ringtone.
