Nokia today began U.S. shipments of the Nokia N91 multimedia device. Optimized for mobile music consumption, the N91 provides a 4 GB hard drive, 3.5 mm stereo headset jack, wireless LAN support, dedicated music keys, and easy PC synchronization with Windows Media Player.
As an added bonus, the stainless steel-encased N91 comes preloaded with exclusive content from the series of Live8 concerts that were held in July 2005. People who buy the N91 can enjoy videos performances by a range of world-famous artists.
A new feature allows users to share playlists with friends by multimedia message, email, or Bluetooth. The N91 serves up to 10 hours of music via the included stereo headset with remote control, supporting a wide range of digital music formats including MP3, M4A, WMA, AAC, AAC+ and eAAC+.
Packed with multiple connectivity options, such as GSM/EDGE, WLAN, Bluetooth wireless technology, USB, and even WCDMA for international roaming, the N91 makes it easy for consumers to find and enjoy music when and where they want.
Drag and drop personal music collections or synchronize recent music purchases with a PC. Users can also create and manage playlists directly on the N91, or shuffle songs around to build an optimal listening experience.
The N91 boasts a 2.0-megapixel camera, push email support, Internet browsing, RSS feeds, Nokia PC Suite inbox for easy personal computer synchronization, and a new feature which helps transfer contacts, calendar and gallery files between compatible Nokia devices, without having to use a PC.
The Nokia N91 will initially be available exclusively online for $599.

That's "cheap" compared to the price in Germany... here it starts at 515 Euro (which is about 664 US$) at some cheap shops, but in most shops the price is higher.

About 99.9% of the reviews I've seen have been saying this phone is outstanding! The only bad one I've seen was from some guy that wants something that's 3 years down the road. I'm getting one this weekend and I will let you know next week how it is.

Don't forget: the phone has no vibra.
I personal wait for the Sony Ericsson W950i which has vibra and touchscreen.

Ah, ok... I just read many more reviews. It seems Nokia did put in vibration in the last minute. There was no big word about it, they did it silently.

The same occured with the N6680. I remember the hype at the time also said it didn't have vibra but then phone did. How can you not have it anyway? It's a standard feature on all phones!

Nokia was worried the vibra could damage the internal harddisk when vibrating.
The compaints in the run-up of the release were quite big, I guess to big and Nokia got scared.
