Named after the legendary Japanese sword used by the Samurai, the ultra-thin Sanyo Katana is the second slim device to hit store shelves.
With an similarly sleek and sexy profile reminiscent of the Motorola RAZR, the Katana bundles essential features and functions into a slim profile to target a different demographic.
Offering a rich multimedia feature package, the Katana includes a built-in VGA camera, dual color screens, Bluetooth wireless technology, and the ability to send and receive instant messages, email, and chat.
Combined with the Sprint PCS Vision service, customers can download images, ringers, games, and other applications, while PCS Picture Mail allows customers shoot, share, and print digital pictures through participating retailers across the country.

I went into the Sprint Store the other day and took a look at the Katana. IMHO it looked pretty good, but was pretty lacking on features. I ended up with the A900 instead.

Just got the Katana as a free replacement from Qwest after having 3 Motorola V710's fail. The phone is very nice but the Receiving-Audio is a "3" on a scale of 1 to 10. It is often hard to understand what is being said by the person on the other end of connection. Sort of a muffled distortion like the person has tape over their mouth. The transmission audio is fairly clear but too low in volume. You have put your mouth right on mike and talk pretty loud for the person on the other end to hear the Katana user at a normal volume.
These comments are in comparison to the Motorola audio which is exceptional . . . like a high quality wired phone.
Except for not-so-great audio . . . the Katanais is phone is terrific.
