I would like to get some female perspective on this...
(1) Is the clam so popular with women because of the RAZR and thus it follows the "everyone must have it." Example... white purses are in this season (I hate that I know that) and thus it seems like every woman must have one (way too much time spent shopping with girlfriend!!!)??? If sliders become the next big thing in US, will "everyone" need one of those? This is a serious question.
(2) To what degree should a phone be customized? I'm assuming its the outside for the most part, as with all other elements of fashion/whatever, its the appearance that counts most, right? Or, would the internal matter GUI matter too?

1. I can't speak for everyone, but in my case I chose the RAZR because it came in Pink. At the time there weren't many pink phones being sold, and the RAZR looks hot!
2. I recently started getting phone tattoos. I think they're a great way to add some personality to my RAZR. I hate having the same thing as everyone else, and it lets me show off my style. I don't really care much about what it can do (as long as it can make phone calls). Phones are like fashion accessories now.

Can't speak for all, but...
1. A lot of women do buy just because everyone else has it. They can't be the last on the block without it. I really couldn't care less about the popularity of the RAZR. I personally hate that phone. Maybe because it feels cheap or maybe because everyone has one.
2. As for personalization, my daughter has alot of the phone tattoos and rhinestones to make her phone look cool... she's 13 and wants her phone to be fun. I bought the Sanyo MM-8300 in RED because it stands out. It has the features I want and it looks good too.

I wouldn't place much validity on this survey. Seems like they're just grasping at straws. I think most women would want to get pampered at a hair salon.
