Cingular Wireless today announced the launch of the ZX20, Samsung's first commercially available High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) phone for the U.S. market.
The ZX20, encased in a sleek Samsung-signature clamshell with silver and black accents, features a dedicated "multitask" button, allowing users to easily access Cingular's 3G network and view menus necessary to simultaneously use voice and data, check email, surf the Web or download ringtones all while on a voice call.Featuring a 262K-color TFT screen on view downloads from the Internet, or video and still images taken with the 1.3-megapixel camera, the ZX20 also boasts built-in messaging options such as AIM/AOL, MSN, and Yahoo!. On the Cingular HSPDA network, consumers can use traditional voice function of the device while simultaneously downloading data. Accessing mobile applications such as video streaming, high-speed Web browsing and fast software downloads, the quad-band ZX20 will work around the world; allowing users to stay connected to friends and family through a number of mediums - voice, data and messaging. Cingular's 3G network provides average download data speeds between 400-700 kbps with bursts to over one megabit. The company currently provides 3G services in more than 60 cities and towns located nearby Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Gary (Ind.), Houston, Las Vegas, New York City, Phoenix, Portland (Ore.), Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose (Calif.), Seattle, Tacoma (Wash.), and Washington, DC. - Samsung ZX20 Specs
