Sony Ericsson today announces two new Walkman phones; the W880i and W610i build on the success of hit-models such as the W810i and to broaden the appeal of the Walkman phone.
At just 9.4 mm thin, the W880i is the slimmest Sony Ericsson phone yet and combines the full Walkman phone experience with a device that fits easily into a pocket. The 1 GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) provided in-box gives users room to store up to 900 full length tracks, whilst the host of music applications (such as Walkman Player 2.0 and Disc2Phone) make it easy to get music onto their phone and search through play lists once. Plus a 2.0-megapixel camera, is packed into a UMTS phone that's as slim as a standard CD case.
The Disc2Phone music management software allows users to transfer their tracks easily from a PC straight onto the phone. With Bluetooth Audio Streaming, the music can be enjoyed wirelessly on a Stereo Bluetooth Headset or by streaming music directly to a home or car stereo. The W880i delivers up to 18 hours music listening time and features a Flight Mode which allows the phone to be switched-off in mobile-prohibited environments.
The W880i Walkman phone is a UMTS 2100 GPRS 900 / 1800 / 1900 music phone and will be available in selected markets from Q1 2007. The W888 Walkman phone is a GSM variant, minus the video telephony functionality, intended specifically for China where 3G services are not established.

The W610i Walkman phone is a fully specified music phone that does not compromise on its digital camera offering. As well as the 2.0-megapixel camera with auto focus, video recording and playback, the W610i provides a horizontal camera menu - so that the user holds it as they would a regular camera when taking a picture - and a Picture blogging facility for uploading photo's direct to a user's online blog site. The W610i also includes an RDS FM Radio to brighten up the daily commute or trip to the gym.
The W610i Walkman phone designed to build on the look of earlier Walkman phones, combining mobile music with a credible digital camera. The W610i stores up to 470 full-length music tracks on the 512 MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) provided, and offers the inventive TrackID music recognition application; a feature that lets the user record a clip of an unknown music track onto their phone and immediately receive a notification of the track name, artist and album. Add to this a 2.0-megapixel camera with auto focus and the W610i is a credible fusion of phone, music player and digital camera.
The W610i Walkman phone is an EDGE 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 music camera phone and will be available in selected markets from Q2 2007.

^He probably just means that if anything should go wrong with his supposed SE phone that T-Mobile supposedly carries, he can just fall back on the carrier's warranty and have it replaced. Right now, only SunCom and Cingular/ATT carries SE phones. There have been rumors about T-Mobile carrying again a few SE phones since the days of the T610, such as the Z310a.but then again, they're just rumors.
W880i looks ugly, IMO, with its odd keypad. It looks like someone just sat down on a W810i and it literally flattened out. The W610i looks like a slight upgrade to the W810i since it will support A2DP. Something that users have complained about before. The only thing I see as a problem with it is the expandable memory, since the W610i uses M2 while the W810i uses Pro Duo.

If you are wanting to change your number onto another network provider phone your customer service and ask for a pac code don't ask for an unlock code go to a market stall its cheaper but remember it invalidates your manufacturers warranty so any problems if you do have to take it back to the place you bought it do not tell them its unlocked but even then they may not repair it free of charge

just got a brand new 880i completely unwrapped. I stupidly inserted the memory card into the sim card slot and now it is stuck inside! Anyone knows how I can pry open the casing to remove the memory card? I had pushed it too far in to remove it by pliers

I just got a w880i as a replacement for my w800i which had charging problems. The w880 is great.BUT. I always used the w800i shortcut for Play/Pause (on the side). The button which allows you to pause regardless of where else you are in the menu. It was great because I could pause the music when I was half way through writing a message, etc.
The w880 button (on the side as well) i've discovered, only lets you open up the walkman feature, it doesn't let you pause it. As far as I can tell, you have to quit everything your doing, go back into the walkman feature and THEN press pause.
Does anyone know a way of turning this button to play/pause, like the w800i?
Any help would be appreciated!

Bit off topic .but anyways.
The best way to find it is to look harder for it, short of that then im afraid its lost for good. If your sure its been lost for good then its best to phone ur service provider up and get the IMEI of the phone blocked, that way if a person finds it, they cannot use it.
