Motorola today announced the availability of the Motorola Q q9 and Motorola Q gsm, expanding its award-winning Q platform.
Operating on the new Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 platform and integrated with Motorola's Good Mobile Messaging technology, the Motorola Q q9 offers personal and corporate email, calendar access and content management.
HSDPA connectivity makes listening to music, watching videos or sharing pictures fast and Windows Mobile "PlaysForSure" enables compatibility with music and video stores worldwide. A side-load removable microSD card compliments the Q q9's 256 MB of onboard memory.
As the second handheld built on Motorola's SCPL platform, the Motorola Q q9 is optimized by design. It's thin and lightweight frame includes an ergonomically-optimized keyboard and five-way navigation key to enable fast and accurate text entry. The Q q9 also boasts one of the world's smartest screen displays, automatically adjusting to produce the best visual experience, indoor or out.
Retaining the productivity features of the original CDMA-based Motorola Q while adding new enhancements, the Motorola Q gsm features quad-band GPRS and EDGE capabilities to deliver worldwide connectivity, Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 software for flexibility and power, and a suite of multimedia and messaging options to keep users entertained.
Based on the Q design, the Q gsm showcases a soft-touch metal casing, electro-luminescent keys, full-color screen and ergonomically optimized QWERTY keyboard and side thumb wheel to deliver email and messaging.
The Motorola Q family also leverages Microsoft's Windows Mobile Platform, Motorola's Good Mobile Messaging technology and a variety of third party email solutions.
The Motorola Q q9 will be available in Q2 2007. The Motorola Q gsm will be available in the second half of 2007.
