Motorola today unveiled the RAZR2, the next evolution of the RAZR brand offering CrystalTalk technology, up to 2 GB of on-board memory, Web browsing, real-time point-to-point video and fast menu navigation.
With the introduction of the RAZR, Motorola created the first culturally iconic phone, revolutionizing the way the world views the mobile device. The RAZR2 is sleeker, stronger and an even smarter consumer experience, featuring:
- Innovative CrystalTalk technology for better call clarity.
- Access to digital music, a real-time point-to-point video feature that allows another wireless customer to "See What I See" and up to 2 GB of on-board memory for approximately 1,000 songs.
- External texting including pre-programmed messages with the phone closed.
- Full HTML Web browsing and email access.
- A sharper profile - two millimeters thinner than previous models.
- Vacuum metal finishes and chemically hardened glass including the largest external display in its class.
- A stainless steel internal frame to provide strength and durability.
- Greatly enhanced dual screens give consumers the largest-in-its class 2.0-inch external screen for crisp picture caller ID and readable texts and a 2.2-inch internal screen with twice the resolution of the original RAZR.
The RAZR2 family's three new handsets - V9 (3G HSDPA), V9m (EVDO CDMA) and V8 (GSM) - will be available to users of all three major technology networks. Some versions of RAZR2 will run Linux/Java, giving Motorola entry to the next generation of mobile architecture.
The RAZR2 V8 has a completely redesigned User Interface (UI) so consumers can search contacts even faster. This eliminates duplicate entries for the same person while allowing contacts to have multiple numbers. The main menu is customizable, so consumers are never more than 2-3 clicks away from favorite applications, and even messaging is easier; automatically recognizing what type of message consumers are sending.
The RAZR2 V8 also "talks" to consumers by speaking the interactive menu, contact lists, emails and messages aloud - a feature developed for people with visual impairments, but convenient for in-car use. Without opening the phone, RAZR2 users can rely on the large external screen to read messages and reply with pre-programmed text messages.
With the new ARM 11 processor, processing speed is 10 times faster than the original RAZR and with high-speed USB 2.0 it only takes 2-3 seconds to transfer a song. Microsoft Windows Media Player 11 compatibility helps consumers easily purchase, synchronize and transfer their music library to their RAZR2. In some models music can be downloaded over the air at near-broadband-like wireless data speeds. The external display incorporates Motorola's "haptics" technology, which provides users with vibrating feedback in response to their finger taps. This, combined with the virtual music keys, allows the user to effortlessly control their music.
The Web-browsing experience, including a full HTML browser, takes advantage of the internal display and high-speed wireless data connections. Built-in email functionality gives easy, PC-like access to both personal and corporate email accounts.
Debuting on the RAZR2 family of devices, Motorola has incorporated Google's mobile search experience, helping users get information, bringing results with minimum clicks and enabling them to add frequently accessed content to their Google homepage.

When will this phone release for T-Mobile? I recently ruined my previous phone and I've reverted back to a really really OLD and lousy phone. I'm holding off upgrading to anything seeing as I want the Moto RAZR V8. Anyone know when it'll drop? It's July already.

even if they were, it would be awhile, cause they like their phones to match SARS regulations, and america is just slow on technology
