AT&T today offered new data plans for international travelers and expanded global coverage.
The new package will feature 50 MB of data in 67 countries for $60 per month. Laptop card users can get 5 GB of data in the U.S. plus 200 MB overseas for $230 per month. These new plans are in addition to existing plans, which range from 20 MB to 100 MB.These new plans are in addition to a variety of existing plans, which range from 20 MB to 100 MB. AT&T has increased the number of countries, from 41 to 67, in which it offers discounted data rates. AT&T also has resources for travelers. AT&T's Travel Guide (www.att.com/travelguide) creates an itinerary with rate information for up to 10 international destinations. The tool lets users accurately find rate-plan information. Customers can make and receive calls in more than 200 countries and send email and browse the web in more than 150 countries, including more than 60 countries with high speed third-generation (3G) coverage. AT&T has also expanded its voice and data coverage on major cruise ships to 120 from 75. "The ability to use your everyday AT&T device around the world makes international travel easier and more convenient," said Bill Hague, Executive Vice President of AT&T. "We provide our customers with the complete solution to stay in touch with family, friends and business colleagues while abroad." AT&T also announced AT&T Navigator Global Edition for international navigation capabilities. It provides turn-by-turn directions in the six Olympic cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Shenyang, Tianjin and Qinhuangdao as well as most western European countries, North America and the U.S. Caribbean.
