Motorola today introduced its ROKR EM28, a music phone with enhanced 3D surround sound.
The ROKR EM28 offers music in a familiar clamshell design. Users control music using touch-sensitive keys that appear only when needed. The front of the phone shows the name of the artist and song without opening the flip.
The ROKR EM28 has features that enhance the music's performance. A 3D sound effect gives music a surround-sound quality and an audio equalizer provides 11 pre-set music genres, including rock, reggae and pop. Consumers can boost the bass up to nine decibels.
With Radio Data System (RDS) technology, listeners can identify songs playing on the built-in FM radio. FMShare records station information to share with friends with FM-enabled phones. Users can find details with SONGID technology or record it with mono FM recording, then use it as a ringtone.
Airplane Mode plays music for approximately 11 hours of music playback.
CrystalTalk technology ensures calls come in loud and clear. Bluetooth wireless technology and industry standard connectors such as a 3.5mm jack, let listeners connect speakers and headsets.
Digital music supports multiple music formats, including MP3. Transfer music from a PC with drag and drop via USB 2.0.
"Following the path of our award-winning ROKR E8, the newest additions to our ROKR family make listening to and discovering new music accessible and affordable for everyone," said Steve Lalla, Corporate Vice President of Motorola Mobile Devices. "From uncovering new music with friends through our FMShare feature to enjoying surround-sound quality audio, these new ROKR phones deliver the music."
The Motorola ROKR EM28 will be available later this quarter around the globe.
