Motorola today announced its Jewel clamshell, a fashion phone with 3D crystal-cut design and mirror finish.

The jewel-like design in a Midnight Quartz color has a stylish purple keypad. Its metallic, lustre finish comes to life with animated screen savers that appear to "float" across the borderless, external display. The display's touch-sensitive, digital keys let consumers control the music player from the outside. It comes with a mini-clutch designed to hold essentials for night out.
A built-in 2.0-megapixel with 8x zoom camera delivers high-quality, printable images with multi-shot feature, video capture and playback, and a light and landscape viewfinder.
The Jewel offers mobile music capabilities with one-touch access to the tracks and pauses music as calls come through. Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology lets users to enjoy a wireless mobile stereo experience.
"The Jewel combines fashion-forward trends with the latest in premium mobile design and inventive controls to deliver a unique and mesmerising mobile experience," said Andrew Morley, Vice President of Motorola.
The Motorola Jewel is available in the UK exclusively at Carphone Warehouse starting in November 2008.

They've been making phones for women since the pink RAZR came out. It only makes sense since it's a big market.
I think the mini-clutch is a good idea. Looks slick!

I think it's silly to waist time and money like that. Not that I don't like Motorola products, just that seems silly.
